Well I got to out again today and my dad was back home so I did not have to check on my grandmother.   I fished from 10 until 3 after my dentist appointment (which was cavity free).    The north side was full of this Canadian group of about 7 guys and my rock on the head was open so I stayed on the south side.   Nary a nibble down on my end for an hour.   Saw a spot open up stream and I went up fished there for a while and got one hit and rolled one with a head shake.  At about 12:00   the guys on the point left for lunch and I jumped up there and it was game on.  4 on the bank  lost a HUGE male at the net, it would have been by far my biggest one, I am guessing 15lbs.    I also lost a 10 plus lb female too as I was trying to tail her.  It was quite difficult trying to land them on my own.    I was 4 for 10 on legit hook ups and had at least 4 or 5 foul hooked fish today, most sped down the river and broke off.    It was probably one of my best days down there.   Everyone around who stayed most of the day had a few hook ups.

Funny thing I am getting ready to cast and out of nowhere a boat come floating by.   Boat in the LFZ.............      Yes it was the DEC.   You should have seen a few guys turn around quick and "tie on a new fly"     At least one guy down from me had been fishing with what looked to be a slinky of about 3/4 ounce.  You should of seen him try to cast, he was the first one to turn.   They pulled up to the shore and only checked one guy and explained to him loud enough for many to hear that it was 1/8 ounce counting fly and swivel.   They asked him to remove one of his splits and moved on.    I think I only got pics of 3 of the fish and will post the porn later this PM, one was small, but on the bank.

Yes and yes RJ.
The only thing that would have made it a better day was someone to share the water with.    I am getting much better detecting the more subtle takes that I missed last year.   Seeing the line twitch or feeling that take/ tic that is not the bottom.

For some reason I had a few fouled today,   2 were obviously in the motor  they were gone,  just pointed and held,  no need to chase a fish and hold up folks fishing with one in the tail.   The other 2 I got close and saw the fly in it's cheek  and one was under the jaw.   Maybe those were good hits and got them on the hook set.

Lots of difficulty landing them on that side without a net man and I got alot of fish close today, but the hooks popped when I tried to tail them or net them.

Wanted to add today's fly of the day was a peach egg in single or Babine style, pink steelhead hammer came in second. Also got 1 or 2 hits on a green casddis.     Not a touch on stones today by me or anyone else I talked to even thought there were quite a few crawling on the snow.

Nothing on th, blues eggs today and  Pea hurl flies either

Another good day! There may be hope for me  yet.  Great report, Clint. I can't believe a boat came through.  Amazing.  I would've dove in to get your 15 lb.er- you need a good net man.

Maybe I should forget Ohio and race to the SR.Went out today to a trib to the Grand river because the major rivers were flowing high and dirty.Get to the trib and it's low and clear, walked/fished it from one end to the other and nothing, nada, not a fish to be seen.I'm not having any luck out here

They must have a launch up there somewhere.  You should have seen the heads turn and do a double take.   Not me,  I was quick to cast behind it and keep casting.   Did pick up a hit a few minutes after they went through.    I have a feeling that this weekend it will be PACKED.  If the water stays manageable I may venture a few other places.   Maybe it being easter will keep the crowds down sunday.   The wife has a very sore back and that will keep us from traveling I think.

Sarge it was was a beautiful day,   although the water is still cold.   Mid 40's   with just a few peaks of sun that only lasted for a second or 2
