Somebody better post up a REAL property line map- The ones I have seen posted to date kinda show theirs a bit back from the actual edge of the SR. Nothing showing any 'middle of the river or river bottom lines.
Perhaps its some sort of high water line but NOT showing them owning into or across the river. Actually understand across the river is State fisherman access property.
If they do just have 'frontage' guys walking in waters or on the edge in 'normal' or low conditions from above or below or from across will likely have some issues next fall..
New name for Altmar--Fistfight City- roughest little town in upstate -Ny. lol--
   Or DSR North-

Or our Governor, Augstus Andrew Ceasar Cuomo deciding to sell the people's rights and easements to the highest bidder, or campaign contributor!.

Across the river is onthe NYS Maps as easement, and they are forever, (but so was ammendment 2!)

Frankly its not much different than some of us thought it would be since the news came out- still good for Altmar--
Dont believe they own both sides anyplace so the River itself is kinda open IMHO at this time. Meaning that their lines do not go all across like in DSR
It is a great ad though - saying exclusive rights.
Would think they mean that they do own any walking areas approaching one side for bout a 1/4 mile there. That will certainly limit fisherfolks  along that side.
State easement side is better fishing anyways and gets most of the fisherfolks now.
Still wanna see some detailed maps.

Here is the map and the minimal times I do fish that area I fish from the other side.   Wonder if they will sell passes when the hotel is not full.   At about 150 people at full occupancy for 1700 feet  seems like a lot of folks for that side.   It's not fresh fish,  it's not  that  prime of water and it's not even private access.   I hope them the best.  Will not change my fishing all that much.

They do  not need to own the other side,  just to the middle to control access, I have several years of experience helping a farmer on a popular brown trout stream proving this fact.

that said, the map clint put up, maybe inaccurate and they just might own to the center line.

It's the county tax map so it very well could be inaccurate. The survey will the kicker. If they  own to the middle,  it is of a stretch that fishes better form the other side and folks will be fishing from the other side.  If they think they can raise the room prices out of line from the other places in town due to access to that stretch it may not go.  It would  not make me pay 20 to 30 extra dollars a person for a room, especially early when $45 would get me into the DSR.   Think of the town pool

Since I never fish that stretch I really could care less. However,I think what they are spending on that property will be a losing proposition and I give them about 3-5 yrs to join the Portly Angler.

Thought about that map being some kinda general thing when  first seeing it some weeks back-the thing that got my attention was that funny squiggly line in it with the line running back and forth- kinda said to me that it had some accuracy- why else do that kinda weird line.
The other neighboring lines shown in red seem proper and the School line seems highlighted in blue for our info.
When looking up my property lines on similar overhead maps they appear spot on with my survey.
  Will find out soon enough--IMHO
