And it is porbably just fine with the transplanted locals, I hear if three or 4 guys get in the brook with a snow fence and a few other guys walk downstream you don't even need to get your lines wet, and you can fill a couple of coolers way before light, and then go act effete in the flyzones. Jeez, if we make enough noise we can fill all the hotels twice a day, like shifts, and take some of the pressure off the Erie tribs when we pull the Pa guys and the Ohio guys up! We can probably get the Pulaski to Altmar corridor back to the glory days of cricket snagging!

Speaking of weighted trebble hooks -- how heavy does your Fly Rod have to be to effectively throw them ??  I would  HATE to become a Neandrathal and go back to spinning.

Hey- not to change the subject or anything but whats the deal with the Rapalas or swimming stick baits for Steel?
Saw  it a few times on the feeder last week and kinda cringed at those things running through pools and up the side of banks. Saw them fished up and down stream and even across the pools.
   Trebble hooks?
Couldnt see the hooks and as I tend walk around guys fishing so as not to bother them -always figured a wide berth for a way up and down stream was the polite way..

So would a 4" long Intuder on a Switch rod be an acceptable alternative to a 4" long rapala on a spin rod, when the goal of each is to provoke a "Defense of Redd" response from the spawners that a few years ago posters on this board said it was unethical (and I think is still perceived as unethical on the Erie tribs) to be targetting in any way in the spring.  Or maybe the rapala is the new J plug, which is a great trolling bait for fall kings in the lake but was definitely an expensive cricket in the river until outlawed by the wording of the regulations on floating lures, especially if they are using them in the little creeks like OB and TC.  But I know exactly what Dime is talking about with floaters along cut banks (or hotshots if you got em) the poor man's drift boat when the water is up, and a perfectly legal and ethical way to have your arms wrenched around heavily!! Ace in the Hole!

Lucky, are you referring to an intruder with a treble??? Id think dec would knock it down as the fly does sink. Ive only pulled rapalas a handful of times and my intent was dropbacks or lake fresh fish. I dont look for redds nor prefer to target them. I dont think its a sin if someone does...
