Does anyone know if the lake will be fishable by spring?

Lake will probably closed until spring of 2020 if the PFBC follows the schedule they used last time they drained it.  The other factor will be how long it takes the lake to fill back up.  If I get a chance this week I'll check to see if it has started filling

Thanks Mike... but what a bummer.

Just took a ride past the lake. No sign of activity on the Meadville end and although the dam looks completed  it looks like a lot of grading work needs to be finished. Crews were moving a lot of materials around and it looked like the gate system was completed on the Cochranton end but the temporary dam is still in.   So I'd say it will be spring time before they shut the gates and start filling the lake up.

Thanks Mike. I tried getting over there today, to Tamarack, but got waylaid at a real estate office in Meadville.

Will be exciting to watch the lake refill.

Channel 24 Erie news just reported today at noon that Tamarack Lake will be started to re-fill sometime in Mid-April and is expected to take 6 months to do that. With the rain we  have had, I would expect it to fill sooner if it stays as wet as it has been. Good news for a change. They say the dams should last for the next 50 years...Let us hope so...

Ohhhhhhh surrrre........ I leave town for a few months and they decide to refill the lake. See how they are!!!!

On a lighter note, I'll be very happy to see how the dams look, in fifty years. 😂
