Got an Email/newsletter from Jim Rusher this morning. Brings back memories of the OLD SR. He was a friend and a great guy as long as he was there always stayed and shopped at his place.
He has moved on as we know and seems to be doing well in his new fishing adventures.

On the same general page Bear- spend about  5 days a month up there on average. Light in the Winter but at least once a month for a couple of days and heavy in the late Summer into snow.
Plan on a lot more this upcoming year as am leaving Politics and moving. Will have much more 'quality' time. Finally gonna really Retire.

Way too much Winter for me- Visits are my limit.
That said 15 or 20 miles North or South or closer to the lake are much more tolerable than the 'Lake Effect' region.

Apparently missed the edited thread but gotta say- some  can get more satisfaction out of one fish landed or even hooked and well fought in a day or even a nice day afield with nothing  caught than some seem to get outa a basket full. Even when it happens when your all alone someplace and no one else know about it - unless ya think your in some kinda contest.
It aint the numbers but the quality of experience that counts. IMHO.
Old timer once told me' even a skipper with the bow can be a trophy' --never forgot that line- similar  philosophy.
