Hey guys! I know that the folks on this part of the forums know their salmon. I posted a pic of what I was told was a very big coho salmon. It was 42" and weighed 25lb. Anyway, I posted a pic of it under the Fisherie board, "Almost Time..." thread. Go on there and check it out and tell me what kind of fish it is. One guy is swearing that it is a chinook, but everyone else says it's a coho. Help me out and tell me what it is. Thanks guys. Post your answers on that thread, not this one. Thanks.

Well its hard to make I Ds from a pic (biologists have made mistakes with fish in hand)
but its got the nose of a coho and as someone pointed out (of course they had tobe a knowitall azzwad about it) appears to have a black mouth (chinook trait) so I'd guess it to be a coho-chinook hybred.
Nice fish whatever it was.

I just posted a few other pics of it. One of the pics shows the inside of the mouth a little better. Thanks twobob.

Twobob, that makes sense. I trust your judgement. I have been reading your posts for close to two years now. You are a very kind, level-headed, and intelligent man. You have probably caught more salmon than I'll ever see. So, I'll take your word. Thanks for checking it out.
