Ahhhhh- budget is over for this year- As Budget Commitee Chair  have been nutso for a while- we managed a tax increase of only .29 of a mill- bout 22 dollars on the average house. Started out looking at 2.5 mills- slashed and burned- and got a smaller leaner Govt. In a budget of well over 200 mil that was a victory. Feelin good about it.
NOW with a whole week off time to get up and mow the lawn veg out with the Lab and do a bit of fishing---
Meetings and fights start again next week- lol.
Cant wait to move into the new house in a coupla months and resign. Retirement ??
 Different town- more possibilities----------

Gerry, awesome water all through there. I always liked fishing below basket creek inlet... nice cold water seem for a few hundred yards below its entry. Late evening hatches usually bring rising fish right near the shore. I also fished calicoon creek itself for years. Had a blast with breeder delly rainbows, stockies and some native brookies here and there. Heard the floods have taken there toll on it in the past ten years though. Its probably been fifteen years since i fished it.

3fan, wheres waldo?????

Drew-Love the water but if the fish don't cooperate it makes for a long unproductive day.  Would have preferred to start farther upstream around Hankins and Kellam's Bridge but the guides thought because it was Saturday (weekend) that too many boats and wade fishermen would be hitting that stretch of water.
I may take a ride over to the Housatonic later this week.  Haven't decided where, either Bull's Bridge or Cornwall Bridge, both good water.

What about the east branch gerry? Last time i drove through the western cats was about a month ago... maybe more. Water was looking perfect then. But little rain since then.

Drew- The CFS on the East Branch is 162.  While the water temperature remains in the low 60's the flow is ridiculously low for time of year.  We need a good soaker.
