Hey Clint, my uncle matt hit messenger schoal the other day at 11am and him and his buddy had their limit in 1 hour.  Other reports ive been getting is the action is picking up everywhere. Wish I could get out, got to take all the siding off the house this weekend!

What's with the siding John? Just curious as I used to be involved in that sort of thing in my younger years.

John, don't forget a good quality housewrap, that and new windows/doors,good caulk job and it'll pay for itself in energy savings in time. Also,I'm sure it's going to look prettier.

the pouring rain garden adventure is over for today.. 2/3rds of it is complete and that will have to do until sunny weather comes around again, someday..
Thoughts towards the house wrap as I need to put siding on my addition, again someday (I'm REAL SLOWWWW )
I see every new construction has it.. My addition is all rough cut lumber board & batten and I'm a little concerned it may not be able to breath thus trapping moisture and rotting the wood.. We insulated the walls well with R-19 ..
Thoughts ?

under my current siding I found 30# felt like you would use on your roof. I will leave it on for now becouse of the rain then tear it off spray the whole house with a termite killer/detourer and wrap it in tyvek. Tuna is your siding going over the board and batton? I also am a firm believer in the house wrap, although at work we just used this new to us product called greenboard I believe. Its basically tounge and grove plywood with a green surface coat of something then you tape all seams with this super sticky tape, no housewrap. we will see how it works, have seen alot of new construction using it.

I was kinda short planning about going over the B&B with siding.. If that was to be the case then Id have to put some sort of filler in between each board, possibly the cheapest styrofoam cut to fit ?
The real deal would be to pull the battens off and sheath it with osb ? but that seems way costly for a 60' X 38' addition

siding is pretty cheap, the highest quality is about 200$ for a 2 square bundle. With all the insulation on the inside Id tear the battons off one side at a time and resheath and side as the cash flow allows.

This project I started 2 years ago, started out as a place to put my sled, riding mower and snow blower along with other garding tools. Then I put the second floor on as a fort for the kid, anyways 2 years later and 13k its done, except for the sheetrock in the fort.
