Rt, heavier leader wouldn't be a bad idea. When I was tar getting the freshies in the beginning of the month I was using fifteen and had no problem. I usually use ten or twelve down there but the water was cool and the fish were hot. Surprisingly, the few I casted to the other night werent as line shy as i though theyd be...this was just a ways below one of your most mentioned spots. I'm a sucker for a switch or two handed rod so I personally would use that. Better presentation cast ability and fish fighting. Can't go wrong with that. Good luck and have fun.

Trev, 14 for down low for sure, I would still carry some 8 with ya if your gonna fish where you commonly do just in case.

Likely will stay low this time-fresher fishes with a bit more 'life'.
 Mid may well be in the picture though for a bit of a walk and some soltitude.

Not seeing much in estuary . No way to battle 4-5 footers so we been chillin in the estuary . Seen 1 fish roll in the last hr & 1/2

Hah. No need. They are floating down stream and we just pick em up- thrown them in cooler .
Unless a big wave come in tonight, the estuary is dead and we are the only fools here. Kinda nice a peaceful though.
I'm just waiting for that 20 lb chromer to grab my sac .. Lol

Just talking to a guy down at the marina that said he got two quick this morning 85ft down over 185fow but it got nasty and they had to get off. Man I want to fish, marina has not found my trailer yet cant get the boat out, getting frustrated!
