I do believe I noticed at least one guide's name on that list.

I read the article that this was linked from here is a snippet

The cases that appear here are cases where the defendant has either pleaded guilty or found guilty after trial. This is not intended to be all-inclusive list of cases handled, but is representative of dispositions received by the Region 7 law enforcement office.

Hey Guy's,
What a pleasant surprise! Looks like I made the morning paper on here :)
Thats why I ALWAYS come here first for my fishing reports, fun banter, knowledge
stuff. Thanks for keeping me entertained!

Guilty as charged for the leader and then thanked the judge. He thanked me
back. (I even wore a jacket and tie out of respect for the DEC, Judge and
court system. :)

I have all of my rods measured at 4 feet. I was in a rush and just pulled it off the spool.
I asked the DEC officer how much I was over and he said I was 12 inch's over the 4 foot rule. (Guilty as charged!)
I thanked him for being out here and doing his job, which I am grateful for. He was very polite, through and professional.
Im still waiting for my D.E.C. hat to arrive in the mail. Boy, wouldn't THAT clear out a pool fast during Salmon Season! ;)
I'll measure from now on, dont want to get another "DUMMY" ticket :)

I have a really nice "current guide fishing report" with all the usual trimmings up.

I used the drift boat on the river on Monday because it was sunny and I knew
I'd be able to see almost everything. Pretty neat what I saw and the large
#'s of Salmon visually counted over 3 miles of river with hardly a sole around
and also "exactly" what type of habitat "most" were in.

Havent heard anyone post a report off a drift boat in the upper end yet. It's all on the below link if intrested :)

Thanks for the info guys- figured that was the way things are but also figured  may not be the only one out there who wanted clarifications.
Just a point to watch for- seems that no matter how tight I clamp down on my little weights they get stuck on the occasional rock and slip down closer to the fly.
One reason I go a bit over 2 feet. WATCH that distance. Picked up the other day after pulling off a rock and the weight was right down to the fly.
Gotta watch them cause somebody may be watching you.
Shortening the lighter line at the end of your setup may help, as many do, and leave a few inches of line off the knot for the weights.
Personally kinda think I get excessive hang ups with that method though so still put weight right on the  leader.
Back in the swivel days really liked those little sand filled shoestring kind of weights with the spin rig that snapped right onto the swivel. Still usem now and again on Steel with the Noodle, when I can find them, later in November. Never liked them on the fly rod.

Now now Randy... It was not the leader that bit you, it was the weight from the hook.. Correct ?
I will say , you have always been most courteous to me (a past guide) while on the water.. I thank you for that..

We here have become a band of outcasts.. Kind of a regular group that get along well.
Fish together, discuss the river, disagree on some issues but not so much promote our craft..
Some , as you know have been here a very long time.. I have seen em' come and seen em' go..
I enjoy all that I read and hope you continue to contribute in such a way..
Peace & Tuna

Trevor.. as we discussed.. A swing with little weight in these temps/flows will result in very little hang ups..  Keep your fly above the fish and let them come to your fly..
When the cold water sets in a tight line (high stick) comes more into play.. Hang ups occur as does fouled fish.. aka lined..
I had very good success using an indicator.. It reduced both when fished properly.. It did however reduce "hook ups" , when fished properly..
