After the first week of Sept there are crowds. Usually where the people are is where the fish are. Can you find some secluded spots with minimal pressure? Sure, but be prepared to walk a bit and even then..........
If you go during the week you will have a better chance of decreased crowds.
There are no "secrets" on this river.
There farther down you are the fresher the fish and the more apt to hit. The farther up you are fish will hit out of aggression and to crush (not eat) others eggs for survival of the fittest.
It is time and place now as fish are moving on up to hit the redds. Could see hundreds go by could see none. Later in the season when they get ripe you can predict a bit better as they get on gravel.
I am not qualified to give info as my luck with these things is hit or miss too, but most of the fun is getting out and enjoying yourself so that's what I do
