Started in the LFZ my father had some luck first cast he hooked a tree behind him second cast fish on. After a battle never got him in he hit the brush and was gone. By 9 there was way to many people. We packed up ran and grab a snack. On to my favorite spot. Man has that change tree across almost the whole river. But same ol hole. I got into them pretty good two takers and a hand full of fouled hooked fish. Both takers took a brown two bead stone fly. Well one day down two to go

Uglyfish,

Going up with four buddies to little Salmon river for 40th B'day of one of our friends Friday - Sunday and staying in Jellystone (don't know why?). We will be up from NYC and are amateurs and will be using hip waders. Do you have any pointers and locations we should aim for? Any information is appreciated and we will try and stay out of your way and that of the other pros around.

Jellystone is in mexico and the little salmon is right behind it.   It is small and shallow.  A few run up it.  It is a bit early for them there and with no rain.   As always fish to fish on faster water, leave the ones in the holes for the suckers who want sore arm from casting

Clint S,
Thank you. We are probably going to drive to wherever the best spot will be on the little salmon river or anywhere nearby that is good for fishing in waders. Do you know of the best location nearby Mexico, ny? Thanks again.

Two Bob and I camped at Jellystone back when it was Flatrock (30 yrs ago?),  and the kings were right up in the riffs along the campground.  If there is nothing there, go to the Salmon but be prepared for a circus.  For much of the Oswego, you need to wear a pfd, make sure if you go there you learn and follow the rules as they are very much handing out invitations to meet the local JP.

Thanks alot. Shows you what I know. I thought the Salmon River and litlle Salmon River were one and the same. I am assuming the one the abutts Jellystone is the little salmon river. I saw the DEC citation forum, so I have an idea how crazy they are. Thanks L13 and thanks again Clint S. Hope you guys are reeling them in this week.
