But the beer tastes so much better up there!

Great story, Tuna! LOL

Griz used to regularly cast behind the conga line at the meadow and extract  fish to illustrate that the middle of the river was NOT the place to be standing.

Tuna- GREAT--wish I was there-

Was up by the Vines coupla years back in late Oct and had a large humpy back hook jawed 'big green' male on--a boat was coming down real slow with one guy on the oars- no fishermen.
Fella up from me shouts 'cut it off- Warden in the boat'. Kept up the fight--
Fella start running down my way - no more yellin -the boats gettin closer- 'cut the line- cut it offfff -WARDEN IN THE BOAT"--kept fightin and said 'its OK'.
Fella gets right next to me and loudly whispers as the boat came by 'break it OFFFF thats a WARDENNNNNN'.
Warden looked down at the fish as he passed - looked over my way and nodded.
C&R- took a very small blue sac.
Some will NEVER believe they bite- but the guy meant well.

the funniest is when a guy on one side hooks a fish, it runs into a line on the other side, they both have way too heavy line on...they argue, fuss fight and in the mean time the fish is hanging mid air as they pull for all they are worth

watched a guy at the black hole fishing the fat water on the steep side last year. He had on a ton of weight and it looked like 20 pound test. He got snagged. when his line broke the split shots came flying back and hit him in the nuts. Doubled him right over. The only thing better was that he did it again about an hour later. I yelled over "You better start wearing a cup". He waved and headed out.  That had to hurt pretty bad.
