Yea they fight too hard for an old fart like me. Lol
It's more of a culture thing really.
1. I like some sort of sanity while I fish .
2. Trout are a returning species that put my skills more into play ( not that they or salmon are just cast & catch )
3. The climate suites my clothes , give me cold rain & snow :)
4. Trout are much , much more fun to play with , and they look nice too.
5. It's one step closer to hardwater :)

I like fighting the Salmon 'cause I have a old fart friend that nets them for me.I think this year I'll bring a thermos of ice cubes to keep him happy until the hardwater comes that he loves.

I sure would like to join you 2 old farts, your pretty good company.

3fan, he spells that way on purpose. It's kinda like his calling card. He's probably one of the smartest and most accomplished anglers around. He has an interesting sense of humor and doesn't miss a chance to rib someone. No harm is ever intended. Wait, let me rephrase: Harm is seldom intended. LOL!
 
Hot Tuna, I would love to fish the hard water with you some day. I'm still learning about it and the "old farts" always have a lot to teach us young folks.

I think a few of us will have some laughs and good times this " salmon " season ..
Right through the new year :)
We will share waters , stories and good clean fun. Maybe a few fish will be caught along the way :)
Some way, some how , I will get you guys together for a little stroll "on" the water.

Ah well , it's time for fishing and let the games begin.

When and if I take that stroll on hard water there has to be a heated fishing house at the end of it.......I'll bring the Makers Mark!

I only prefer Brown Trout and Steelies because yes they are harder to catch, but also there are less people in the river. 

Honestly:
 I find salmon harder to catch..
