The 2013 Salmon Season has officially begun.  I saw a report from DSR saying that an employee took the first King of 2013 earlier this morning.  Incredible, August 7, soon we'll be having runs like Alaska.  Let the games begin!!!!

They ran some water over the weekend,900 at Pineville,and it is getting close to THAT time so a straggler this early down low is n't surprising.Probably the end of month should see some runs of fish,but I won't be there then as I'm booked for end of Sept.

Oh boy... I dont work til 4 tomorrow... I can see myself going fish spotting. I'll report back kiddies.

I saw the pics,   I'm with Jack not too early to see a lone wolf every now and then.   It will be time soon.  I am in the minority though.  I am to the point where I can take or leave the sharks.   Does not mean I wont be up there.    Now the steel.............

Same here Clint.. Slimy sharks just don't do that much for me anymore..
Enjoy watching others just as much.. I still go to hang out with good folks and maybe net a fish or two for them but after that they are on their own, lol..

Im with Clint... I look at salmon as a warm up for the steelies. After I get one or two nice mud sharks for smoking, its all practice for browns and steelies.

Why do you get more excited about the browns and the steelies than you do the salmon? Salmon are bigger and fight harder. Is it just because the trout are harder to catch? More of a challenge? I catch steel in Erie every year, but I fished for kings in NY last year and it blew my mind! It was amazing. I only went for steel once last year because those kings spoiled me. lol.

To bad you cant spell to save your f'n life. I enjoy the steel more because the folks that chase them aren't****munchers like MOST of the salmon fisherman, but I am glad you repek your elders.
