The Slippery Rock University Bass Team will be holding an Ice Fishing Tournament (AS LONG AS THE ICE IS SAFE) on February 1st at Moraine State Park. There will be a Panfish division and a Multi-Species division. Entry fee will be $15 per division or $25 for both. More details to follow.

It would be great to get any suggestions and/or some people letting us know that they would like to fish the event. Thanks guys! Stay safe out there.

Don't take much to get me to go to an ice fishing tournament, but since Moraine is so vast, a hydrographic map would be very helpful!!  Kinda hard to tell what depth you're in without drilling a million holes... Not like Conneaut Canadohta and Edinboro lakes.  They are a bowl basically.  If anyone has a map I'd be willing to trade, I have hydros of most of the popular lakes.

I want to thank everybody for coming out to the tournament on Saturday. We had a great time putting it together and it was nice to see that everybody seemed to enjoy themselves. We really appreciate all the good things you guys have been saying. The SRU Bass Team plans on putting together many local events in the future including some more tournaments and an expo. If anybody has any suggestions please feel free to share. Our team is growing fast and we are beginning to make a name for ourselves nationally. The more local support we have, the better we can be. Tournament results will be posted shortly to the website and pictures are coming soon. Mark your calendars for the 2014 SRU Sport and Outdoors Expo on March 15th. More info can be found on the website. Take care!
