Hey guys I posted on here last year but due to money issues we could't make it up last year. My dad and I are making it up this weekend for the first time. We don't have the money for a guide but will cover some ground scouting the river. Not looking to steal any secrets, but just wondering what section of river you would suggest focusing on at this time of year? Im new to the river but fish in Erie for steelhead a lot.
Thanks a lot,
Mike

There will be fish throughout  the river.  It's all time and place.  They will be on gravel .     There will more fish mid to upper, but many will be reaching the end of their cycle.   Fresher ones down low but fewer.   I take a look at the DSR's reports and go by them.   From what I remember Kings take 2 to 4 days to get up the river and Cohos 1 to 3 days..   someone may correct me on this if I am wrong

Gotcha, yeah ill be with the spin rod this trip. It sounds like a good bet to stick with egg patterns I will probably try them first. If the salmon don't cooperate we will target the steelies more as we are comfortable with the methods of catching them. thanks

The circus may have pulled the big top but the clown car hasn't left the area yet.
