As to the "You are OK as long as you are in the water" I started fishing >50 years ago on Oatka Creek, and Spring Creek, and the Garbutt Club has had large chunks of both locked up for longer than that. Try the "I'm wading" line on the Beaverkill above Roscoe, and see how far that gets you with the JP, and those clubs have been there for a longer time than I;ve been around. Even Fran Betters had parts of the Ausable that had been "de facto" public for years posted up last time I went up there.
As to closing the hatcheries, that is not going to happen, the trib fishery is just an afterthought to DEC, the main emphasis is on the Lake. If the contaminant levels keep coming down maybe they'll make it no trib fishing and go back to building a catfood factory. Pulaski would probably smell better in September and October.
I still have not seen the vid, but if the Senator and trapper and Driftwood can do it, I'm with Dawn, too. Stay out of her 150 feet, you've got 12 whole miles, and Morgan Lyle says that's enough for everybody!
