Should have came over to mosquito saturday. They had a club crappie tourney on the northend and their was very little traffic on the lake. The fishing was pretty good too. I finished second with 8 fish, 6lb 14oz. I caught close to 30 to sort thru. All my fish came from 7 to 9ft water over and close to wood. Headed back over in the morning to drift the 88 stumpfield just south of the causeway. Picking up good size crappies and gills but no eyes. Jig and bobber, 6ft deep is doing the job. Or use a microspoon and minnow. Same way.

Thanks John. Those guys are the points leaders for their club. They know the lake pretty good too.
I fished shenango today. 3 hours, 60 fish on the counter. All released. Lots of good 10"ers are starting to bite. Jig and bobber worked good. Got hot fast after the fog lifted.

27 November - Looks like we have at least 7" of snow at the campground. The Clark and Mahaney roadways are currently closed, and will reopen when it's safe to do so. If you are coming out to walk today, I'd recommend the Shenango Rec Area...we'll have the entrance area plowed for parking. Daily lake info and gate openings are available at 724-962-4384.

Yeah it is. When they have all seven open to 1 1/2', all the islands will be under water. Fish are there but just hard to get too.

While hunting today I saw 4 dead pike all within 100 ft. of each other. Didn,t walk far to see if there were more though. All were around 23-25 " Sure hope its not some kind of die off.
