People are taking huge risks crossing, too. We watched some guys crossing a cable at the staircase that was ridiculous. One little slip and the seagulls might have had a different pale flesh to gnaw on. I expect the winter will remain the same. I did manage to learn a few things this trip about high water. Another spot or two that can work, and you can get there with tough wading, not INSANE wading. In some ways, I'm glad for the high water, as some of the traffic may get discouraged by the lack of available fish. Three feet of white stuff and single digits will tell the tale. I know they don't fight like they do right now, are less pretty (but not always) , but if the fishing is peaceful and I can concentrate on fishing, not the crowd around me, it can be idyllic. Or brutal. HT's lakers are looking lots more appealing, though they haven't quite got me hooked yet.
