Thursday was pretty rugged, with the rain and closed mouth fish. All tricks and no treat.  Highlight was fishing with Tuna and  Clint's great response to a question about tribs to use as an alternate. Tuna seemed stuck in ice mode this morning so I went off on my own to check out the muddy creeks and ended up where I've found fish in high water before. They were there.  Left early, but for me way worth the trip to have finally found some.   Credit goes to Nancy for busting through the flooded puckerbrush to net this fish and do camera duty.  Can't wait to go back in a few weeks and for a major assault at Thanksgiving.  I don't blame HT for being a little discouraged. I watched him make endless good drifts yesterday in places that should have held fish for not even a tug.  Next time, it'll be his turn.

Glad to see someone looking in the Puckerbush ditches!

Beautiful fish!  And kudos to your wife, mine's 25 year old waders are still nearly brand new.

Great job man. Seems like today they were more blown out than the river.   I do not think I have ever seen them that high.   You are a trooper and more so to your wife for netting that brute.   What's mine tomorrow was yours today I think, so I am glad you had a good one and got into fish.   I should start to learn to fish this higher stuff  as I know the crowds are lower and the fish are still there.

PERSEVERANCE  pays dues.
As it should!
Way to cowboy up and ride the bronk to the whistle.
You deserve it for putting in the work.
Has the tendinitis set in yet.
Good golly they are pretty fish.

I can say this.clint. It wasn't much fun in the higher waters and the crowds were the same or maybe worse because the spots became limited.
I'm pretty sure Charlie caught that fish in the same place we pounded it to death the day before and got skunked
