Made the trip up to fish Tuesday ,Weds and Thursday,  the usual spots were crowded as usual but I was able to find less crowded conditions with a little walking ,  Tuesday was windy, Wednesday and Thursday was nice weather.  My best day was weds  played with quite a few and landed some.
For the most part the people I ran into were  real nice although on weds. I did have a guy come in right below me and really worked his best to snag one but was was not successful in doing so , he was quite blantant with his snagging technique. On Thursday he was right in the area I was weds so I went in below him, although slower day I did get a few,  he was still thrashing away with no results.  I tried to have a casual conversation with him in the hopes that I could help a little but he was not interested ,, his buddy came over. We talked gave him a few ideas to try and  he did get  one later on which I netted for him he was thrilled tooked all types of pictures for his son ,,  and he really wanted to make sure it was released healthy, so I helped him with that. , maybe he will be able to talk to his buddy .  I did not say anything to him about his buddy, just enjoyed the moment with him...  but to be honest I was glad to see fishing out performed snagging on those 2 days .
I tried my new switch rod , it is obvious I need to spend some more time on local waters practicing , I would like to say is was because the water level being 1200 was the cause , but it was not, it was because I suck at it .
Will head down next week to fish for some Atlantics and I am only bringing the switch, that way I will have to stick with it .
All in all a great first trip of the year ,  be back in a few weeks

That's a good report, Cape. You caught some  fish, helped folks,  had some decent weather and avoided real crowds. That's as good as gets 99% of the time for me.

Lake George use to have a decent fishery this time of year. The LL  salmon would come in to shallower water with the drop in water temps. I waded off what's called the Million Dollar Beach and threw streamers to imitate smelt .  Not a lot of fish, but the ones you did get were incredible fighters. Not enough to bother with now. Wherever you're going, I hope it's successful, Cape.
