Isallcool dude.
Clint gave me what I needed to know.

Lucky that guy was a duffelbag.

Use of hooks with added weight is prohibited, except that artificial flies with no more than one-eighth ounce of added weight may be used.
Clearly it says added weight.
If nature adding weight was the intent of the reg it should say exactly that.
I will volunteer to be a test case for the weight of water being over the limit.

I was just curious as to how heavy my flies were that I tie mainly to fish the upper hole on the G.

Tune I'm not much of a fish eater but cold water perches is tasty.
Good luck with that.

Clint and all, I will admit the more we discuss on what's right and what's not either socially or regulatory , the less I wish to fish such places. I am happy as pie catching dink perch all day long without out any such concerns of who is casting to my water.
I will most likely drop out if the SR discussions for awhile.
Honestly they depress me. The only thing that lifts my sprits are good stories and great photos.

Well, HT, have a merry Christmas and a perchy new years, I won't likely get to fish until after then what with smoking 150 lbs of sausage for gifts, packing it, and shopping for the family.  And then it will all be weather dependant, although if it locks up too much for steelhead, I've already got the gear set for water walking'.

I'll still probably rely on the river for my fishing fixes. Hopefully, it'll be very lonely on the river.  I look forward to those times. I really don't add much here, so I'll probably be going quiet. Happy holidays to everyone.

C'mon guys keep checkin'  in.   HT post some steel on ice.  Fichy post whatever.   I know I will post my ice fishing adventures here.  It's not about the fishing all the time,  it's about the hanging out with some guys that you have something in common with  even if they are a few hours away.
My partner bugged out for tomorrow so my plans are up in the air dependent on weather.

As I get ready to head out for some more winter fun today I wish to go back and explain a little about yesterdays post I made..
After being awake for more then 24 hrs and sitting in a shack during a white out I came home exhausted and a little light headed for sure..
When I meant the discussions depress me, in some ways they do.. It's starting to wear on me how often we (myself included) discuss about crowding, trash, snaggers, access and ethics of the tribs.. The light is starting to burn dim as to why I. personally, chose to fish in such conditions.. Again , it's just me and my sanity does not need to catch "big" fish to have a good time fishing.. The tribs get so much pressure and so many things point in the wrong direction that I'm finding myself wanting to fish in such places less and less.. As Clint said "it's more then just catching"  it's the experience of fishing that I enjoy so why put myself through the anguish (for me)..
I also posted that I will most likely drop out of the discussion for awhile.. That is because I wont be fishing those waters for a while so I really wont have any pertinent information to add..
I really don't understand why those that do wouldn't keep adding their reports and discussion to their adventures.. Like said, it's the reports and pictures that lift my spirits..
Anyway....... Have fun doing what makes one happy, Have a Great Christmas and a Happy New Year..
Gotta run, the shanty is calling..
