Well Lucky, I am busy here tying a couple hundred 1/0 for next year's run....Gotta break in the new vise right.....It's 8s and 10s for steelies....Still looking to do a float trip the Friday after xmas on the SR.  As soon as my buddy gives me the green light, I'll look to hire a guide up there.

Highlight of the day was when a guy was fishing across from us and a guy came out of the woods and started yelling at him for walking on his land to get there, told him he called the police and they would be waiting for him andhe stormed off.   The fisherman  left 5 minutes later and was gone for a while and then came back.  He said the guy met him at his property line and then proceeded to call the DEC.   He parked in the LFZ lot and had walked up and the DEC officer could tell by his tracks that he made a "reasonable effort"  (officers words) to stay within the easement.   The officer then asked if he would like to file a  Sportsman harassment complaint against the guy,  turns out he was not the land owner but a "caretaker"   also said he was a guide and this was not the first time he has called and caused trouble and they were sick of it .   The officer wrote the a hole a ticket and was nice enough to set the court date to a time where the fisherman could come.

This is my first post.  I am have to hear to read your posts and advise and I would like to thank all of you for the great comments and help!!
I decided to join because of this post from Clint S.  I have been harassed by either this guy or someone else there a lot.  awesome to see the fisherman/guild fight back.  Also I use that easement often.  again thanks to all of you who post it is awesome to hear about the river when you can't get here.

Well I'm well outside of pafisher's description, but welcome anyway. I must have been fishing just  below you. The guy that got hassled was lining fish with pegged beads. He came down and fished in front of me, casting in the same drift. He had an indicator set at about 14' and just fed line letting the bare hook do its thing. He also kept a fish out of the water taking about a dozen staged pics for at least 3-4 minutes, let alone he had hell landing it- took forever-  with that long a leader. The caretaker dude was way in the wrong, but maybe he knew the azzhole with the beads. I gave him grief and he got pizzed and went back up river.  He deserved some tickets, too.  At least the fish up there will get a rest. If you're gonna rope fish ROPE 'EM and don't play games that it's C and R.  I hate wasted fish, it's wasted money.
The only part of that walk up the north side that's sketchy,  is after you come off the rock dike and go left into the field. The field edge is  a little beyond the easement. The woods along the river are filled with old barb wire and the trail has been abandoned, so if you stay right on the edge, you should be considered legal.

I've used that easement as well, this year in fact.  I saw the guy cutting weeds with a mower for campers....He didn't say anything to me, maybe he was too busy or just didn't see me.
