It'll be interesting to see how NYS handles the roll back of license fees on 2/1.  A few years ago (2010?) I purchased an out of state CT fresh water license as the Housatonic (Bull's Bridge) is approximately a 1/2 hour away.  A week later the CT legislature rolled back the fees and notified me that I had a twenty dollar credit toward my 2011 license.  I never did buy a 2011 license so I was out the twenty dollars.  Oh well.......

Charlie:
On the Marine fishing license  Check those states you fish.. Some states honor other states license and some not.. I know RI honors a NY (free) marine license but don't think NY honors RI (pay)...
NY sued the Federal Marine over the fee and we got a $10.00 refund and now its free.. I guess it's just about registry for NY. I think it was to comply with an established herring program.. NJ did not and the feds closed the use of herring completely..Really strange and confusing..
