Today was a great with my nieces and nephews and of course my own 2 year old son. I'm very proud to say my son made it four hours out on the ice before mommy had to come and get him. There is no better feeling then being on the ice with 3 generations and other family.

Bagging the season of 2013-14 at 17 weeks straight. It's been a hell of a ride and hope to post a recap but after yesterdays short outing , today's rain and a looming house renovation detail I'm done ( so I say now )..
Time to get some work done so Stripers and open water will be my focus in 2 weeks .
Dang nabit , I will miss the ice . Hope I don't miss another April on the salmon river..

I am/was hoping for 1 more trip on Sunday, the Ice was OK yesterday, but who knows by then with the rain........       If not the SR calls unless flows get bumped way up

HT-Read a NYSDEC Hudson River report that says a Harbor seal was recently spotted off Croton Point Park.  Harbor seals usually show up in the river to follow the spawning run of herring.  If the herring are moving up river the stripers can't be far behind.  Let the fun begin.
