After the build, there were almost 2 dozen 16footers left. I've built a couple raised bed gardens, I used them for border around the big garden and we also used them to replace the bunks on a boat trailer. I think I still have a few left out back. My point is, if you have the money to spend, it's well worth the expense.

Good to have a few extra, but 2 dozen 16 footers left over is enough to build another deck of 12 x 16 foot.

I was thinking the same on 2 dozen.  I had one extra 16 footer last year that I am using this year.  I didn't want to rip something that long, so I adjusted my spacing and it worked.  Was kind of a pain in the rear, we had to pull up and redo about 20 boards...

I have drafted out 3 options for my add on deck, with pull lists for each, down to the amounts of screws/nails/hurricane straps.  Kind of a PIA to follow code.  Way too many variables for overhang on beam separation.  I did my best to limit posts too.  We dug the post holes by hand a couple weeks ago.  36" deep.  About 24" deep was rock, sitting on top of 6" of clay.  That 6" of clay made the rocks seem like nothing.  I'm waiting for the school to call and ask where my son learned so many swear words.

There was a little problem with the build. Its a long story but the short of it is... Our foundation wall cracked and they had to basically rip the built deck off and start over after they fixed the block issue. It was kinda a nightmare but it all worked out in the end. Truss me.. 😉😆

I had thought about replacing my boat floor with composite, but had read not to.  I think the weight was a good bit more than 3/4" marine ply and I think my stringers were over 16" oc.  Also dropping bait, hooks, fish blood and other stuff that would end in my hull...  That ply was expensive then, can't imagine it now.  I encapsulated in 2 part epoxy, so it would have been less expensive for composite.  That stuff is great idea for trailer bunk replacement.

Going to "maybe" try and fish Arthur before Friday for a few hours. Bite should be decent.

Got a pile ov that stuff out back that needs to go. Can't get zero turn in there with a F-150, 17' Star Craft and Bass Tracker surrounding the pile.   I'll message my oldest son if he wants it for raised beds or somethin'. Have to replace 10' of header board attached to house for deck. Have materials sitting next to it for the last two months  Made the mistake ov using all oak when I was young and dumb so last piece ov it will be gone.

Be nice to be young and dumb again though. Hope the fish are biting.

 Thanks Tim.

Can't believe the cheap bobber light sticks I bought online probably 5-6 years ago still work. Good thing because have over 30 packets left.  Half the times when bought from local sporting good stores they didn't work off the shelf and not cheap for what they are. Maybe get out tomorrow night or Wednesday morning early. Old lady is leaving me alone for a few days and heading to Connie Lake in the morning

Took the 'toon out on a shake down run. Brand new pump for livewell non functional. Probably a fuse. Mostly Crappie fished ended up with 1 Bruiser of a Crappie and some Bull Bluegills and one perch. I love the smell of Honeysucle around the lake. Lots of Dogwoods blooming too. Not much bait/ Striper activity which I expected due to the cold north wind.

never really noticed it till a few years ago around arthur and a few other places but is honeysuckle that real strong and sweet smelling plant i smell that reminds me just a little bit of the fragrance they use in porta johns? i swear at this time of year every time I smell that - guessing it’s honeysuckle - i think i’m near a porta John that’s just been cleaned.
