Due to low water they are keeping it closed until further notice. Kind of saw It coming . There is no water in the Res. 135 Cfs is coming. Thanks for the released this summer

Every time they do this I ask "WHY ,what does it help?" It's catch and release so those fish will make it to the hatchery,however the rest of the river is "snag and rope" those fish are going into the garbage.IT just does n't make any sense!

A catch and release section of the salmon river by. That is fly fishing only.

Clint where did you get the news of the closing? I don't see it on the NY web site?

Its listed here and there - one place even has a photo of the sign.
 
Last time I recall this happening was the year of the last real huge run that kinda really slowed above  the Pineville bridge in very low waters.
Fish came by in the dozens instead of 3s and 4s that year- not like that since.'
Much spawning by Kings and Hos took place lower that time too - likely because of the levels.

LFZ=Lower Fly Zone.
