Covered some ground. Parked in the LFZ lot and walked down to the second wires hole and fished the float all the way back to the bridge. Saw maybe 5 guys total and one boat. No one reported a hook up, but I did see a few colored up ones (looked like males) jumping around. Then went down to the LFZ and fished from the end of the wall up to the wire. A big sand slide took out a tree right down from the root ball so that hole is unfishable now. May have to sneak up with a saw in the summer and get it out of there. I got one hit all day and I landed it. Cookie cutter, female it jumped at least 5 or 6 times a few feet in the air, quite acrobatic. Will get the pic off my phone later and post it up

Nice clint.
Thanks for posting about the black flies.
Ends any thought of going tomorrow.
I hates those mothas.
Even when properly lubed up they swarm you looking for a chink.
I can no longer take the sight of them hanging inches from my beak.

TB they were not bad yesterday due to the rain and the wind , but I would look out this week. The nicer weather is a recipe for swarmage

That's a skinny one Clint, the spawn is long over and I would bet many fish are back in the lake with all the high water. Those that are there should be hiting like mad trying to restore themselves after the spawn.
And please get that tree out of there so it don't mess up my drift this fall,I would help if I did n't live 5 hrs away.

I agree that the fish looks thin, but it is also very bright, may have bolted in and got done spawning in a day or two. Time to start dryflyfishing for a few months.
