Tuna was great to get out with ya bud but as usual something always keeps us from fishing :) glad you guys hit the one on Monday... Looks like a hybrid ??? It was definitely a learning experience to hit that rough water so close in... And the uncertainty curve has definitely been broken... Thanks again man and great meeting your first mate as well... Had a blast man!!!

I got my first king last year on the 8th which beat my record of the 13th from back in 99... My season was cooked after the first week of September in which I believe two Bob posted up a lean mean fighting machine for me (as he put it exactly). Took a buddy out in early October and didn't even fish. Hopefully most folks are starting to understand the internet hype a little more and we won't be getting death run hero's by the thousands with little fish in the river. But yes the fever is heating up and hats off to tuna for being the first of the bunch to get slimed. There were always and will always be early fish as long as this fishery exists. Quantity and consistency of fish is another story though. Fish on boys!!!

Andy , Class act brother.. Now that you see she is a solid boat that can handle most of what the Lake can throw, you and your family are ALWAYS welcome aboard the Daisy Mae.. Even if it's sitting on the trailer staring at the lake for hrs on end LMAO.. The company was top notch !!!
I have to say myself, it was MUCH more fun then bobbing like a cork trying to fish..
Still have some learning to do and of no fault to anyone.. It's one thing to give up a hand tied $0.50 fly to the bottom of the river but I gave the Lady 0, $60.00  (3 lures) worth of tackle in a short time.. ugh.. Just throw more $$$$ at it and all I can do is smile, smile, smile ..lol Time of my Life !!

As for the River fishing :
If the opportunity arises that I get to fish with good folks here or take the boy (Rob S ) out for salmon then I will make the trip, otherwise I will wait until the silly season is over (which seems to go on forever) and head up for trout until the hardwater sets in..
For myself the area will mostly become a summer resident fishery for me ..

Peace & Tuna

If I ever get the OK from the doc  save a seat for me and the nephew one time I would LOVE to see his face hitting one of those.

Charlie thanks ..  Being a life long walker myself by no means am I a Capt.. I will leave that job to my 3 year old little buddy ..  Someday these dreams of mine might find their way to them., the grandkids.  There is only so much real estate to any one given land or stream body yet there is lots of open water to explore. Right now I'm along for the ride trying to build the foundation..

That fish must have a disease- seems like everyone is getting it -and its only July.
CAUTION-- one  peek of a fresh one and you got IT.
Can almost hear the trucks zooming up the highway for SR country already----

Hey---almost forgot--
When up for a few days last week the Jailhouse had good numbers of cars in the lot Friday and Sat evenings.
The work seems finished and  the place looks nice from outside.
Looks to be catching on- perhaps just  dinner crowd but did see some folks way back walking into the River area.
Good for Altmar- (fishing issues aside)-they are fortunate to have a thriving business there instead of an old rotting School.
Next time up will drive through the lot and check the license plates - that will tell if folks are locals eating out or coming in for the world famous Smallmouth fishery.
