We use our land lines through time Warner  in the house so no big deal here. We are planning to build  a new house and would be out of the time Warner service area. With no internet we would lose the land line and just use the cell phone for a ''hot spot'' that is if we have service, we may have to check a few providers to find the best reception. We use Verizon now.

Clint since you mentioned Verizon that brings up a strange circumstance for me.I DO NOT receive Verizone cell phone service at my house. It works 1/2 mile from my house in all directions but not in my house. Therefore my Tracfone service is channeled thru AT&T.Been this way for many years and my residence is in a location among around 1/2 million people in the Lehigh Valley Penna.

Had an older Verizon phone and couldn't get service at my new house last year- hadda walk 1/4 mile for service-  got a newer Verizon model and its perfect-battery even last twice as long- or more.

Verizon sucks from the oswego county line and north... Couple the horrible service with a tin roof and you might as well forget about it... I honestly do wish they didn't exist though. They speed up the process of everything... Life wasn't meant to move so fast

This from my point of view.
I am not important enough that people need to get in touch with me on a moments notice.

I am not putting them down or the people that have them, but I don't need anything else to distract me and my ADHD.
I am sure I will have one in the next year or so since my wife gets very nervous when I go hiking down in the gorge or am late getting back from the SR at my oh so rapidly advancing age.
