Ran up Thurs night late-
Friday and Sat never saw a fish on the move- heard only rare reports of one or two from folks fishing - most were skunked with out even seeing fish.
Some seem to be in dark deep holes like LFZ where I rolled one up near the Church hole but conga lines and timing casts aint my thing so that didn't last- Didnt see them there - aint enough to see any- but a couple seem to be deep in dark places holding and dodging baits.
YES-- reports of the estuary with fish all over it are true- they are spread thin and showing all over it- NOT big pods that lead to real big runs. Stood there for an hour and never saw one brought to hand even with so many boats and bridge guys fishing. The one  caught before I got there had the fin- and it was very dark.
STAY HOME - lots more fishermen than fish- Heck there are more fishermen in any one motel than there are fish in the river right now.

For whatever reason they pushed all the gravel back in front of the ramp in Kiddi but there is still a  lot bout half way across- hope high water doesn't fill in unemployment.

I shoulda never planned going- last year I went for a mid- Oct. afternoon all shark season and it was a banner run. Sorry, guys, I jinxed it. Thanks for the report, Trev.

Rumors abound up there, especially the bad run flood fish stuff.
Kinda have mixed feelings though because of so many photos of fish with the fin being caught outside. It is certainly the worst start I have experienced since moving up there part time and having a lot of time to fish.
In four trips over the past several weeks have yet to see one fish on the move. Have only seen ONE in all that time on a stringer and it was in the Estuary.
Can generally always find some earlies by moving around - not this year.
Thursday bout noonish there were only 3 guys left in Kiddie and bout 4 PM no one on the needle.
Only saw 3 deads in two days this trip- one around the A bridge and 2 in the Zone.
Guys are there early and the lots seem to empty as the day goes on- think folks are there because this is the time they had Vacation.
On the bright side -this is kind of like the old days where it didn't start till the very end of the month. Who knows, we might  see better fishing in November with the later runs.

We fisherfolks are the only people in the world who hope to catch the runs.

I believe I saw a state report posted on another site by a guy called fish tech that stated the net seining showed as many or more wild born fish after the flood.
Flood ain't the issue.

Try the new rod, Wayne?  I was hoping it'd handle the hard runs of the chubs.  Your due, bud, your due.  You've paid in, now for the payback.

Please don't wish a river full of moldy sharks on us chromezoners!

Remember, everything else has been 3 weeks late this year!

The instant a couple of 200 fish pods show up and it gets reported on the web its gonna be a 3 ring CIRCUS.
Had planned on the first week or so of Oct but could run again  with a report- lol.
(would still be more fishermen than fish)

Yes tried it out in the afternoon it has lots of backbone to land those hard fighting chubs. Hoping for a good bend in it this week something to get the blood flowing.
