I think this is the smallest fish I've ever caught with a rod and reel. A tiny brown trout. Wasn't even hooked, just bit onto the feathers of my fly.

Largemouth bass, sunfish, and a wild brown trout all together. Hard to see because of the poor quality, but the trout is in the top right. Not something you see every day!!

And a bluegill x pumpkinseed hybrid? from my favorite wild brown and brook trout creek.

Mine if I ask what creek that is? I don't want to spot burn though, so no offense taken if you don't want to post the name.

You'll have to message Captain or wait until he responds, since he targets other fish there and I'm not sure if he would want the creek mentioned or not. But I will say that those are lake-run suckers from another state.

I have bought my old guy till death do I quit Fishing License this year. I have fished since I was a little guy in a crick for chubs and crabs, and I have targeted about everything that swims since.  I sure was surprised by the Quilback Carpsucker, I had never seen one before. And both taking a 1/4 0z Vib"e", and both had hooks in the mouth.
My first thought was it might be an endangered species, second thought some invasive species.
It amazes me you guys have experiences with them.

I recognize the Quillback but is that a prehistoric fish laying beside it.  I don't believe I've ever seen (or caught) such a fish.

Congratulations on the Senior Fishing License Treesparrow, I became a member of "The Ole Coots Angler Club" last year and, I plan on getting my money's worth.

Some of the oddballs and rarities I have pictures of.

20" 5# Chinook Salmon caught in 130 FOW in Erie off of Northeast. Aiming for a Coho to add to my lifelist this year!

30" 14# Freshwater Drum caught trolling in 50 FOW. Best fight I had all summer since a 16# Laker I caught back in May.

32" 21# Channel Catfish I caught from shore in Erie casting a 3/4 ounce Daredevle for Walleye.

14.5" Creek Chub. Probably would have been a state record if the PFBC kept track of Creek Chubs.

22" trophy White Sucker from two years ago. All of the other dozens of Whites that I've caught in this creek were no larger than 8".

My first Golden Redhorse, caught last summer in southeast Michigan.

DM , Nice mix too ! That's the biggest Creek Chub I've ever seen ! Use to catch a ton of those Creek Chubs in Neshannock Creek many moons ago. Haven't fished it in years ...is it still loaded with Chubs in the Summer Troutguy ? The ones I caught were spotted up and had horns or nubs sticking out of their head. Tons of them , couldn't keep them off your line with small baits !

Divemaster that is by far the biggest Creek Chub I have ever seen. Many states have records for far more species than PA. When researching the Quilback I noticed a fella caught one just shy of his state record. PA has no listing for Quilback and also has no record for Burbot, or Creek Chub. They do keep record on some introduced species.

Dang that's the biggest creek chub I've seen as well!! And one of the biggest white suckers I've ever seen too!!! Gotta give that monster cat and drum some love too......but that chinook is a dink lol. I have no room to talk though since I've never caught a salmon haha.

Yes and no. Many of the "chubs" people catch there are actually striped shiners. Neshannock has lots of em, and some big ones too. With that said, yeah it still has some big creek chubs as well as river chubs!! The river chubs on average are the larger of the 3, but I've seen some trophy creek chubs come out of Neshannock. Not as big as Divemaster's though.

All 3 get those "horns" on their heads especially during the spawn. I would post links from the PFBC's site, but the ODNR site has photos instead of drawings. I might have some on my computer of chubs from Neshannock.....
