Dime,

When we left in the AM,  we checked down to town, and there were crowds everywhere.  Haldane was full, ballpark and town hole, staircases, parking was pretty much gone, and river space at a premium.  I think the "week after Columbus Day" regulars arrived yesterday and were out on the river in force.  Cleaning station in Port Ontario was doing business when we were leaving.  LFZ had a lot of people by PM, but everyone was pretty well behaved.

And for what has been being reported as a crummy run, there are a lot of dead salmon out on the bars and shoals in the LFZ.  River needs to come up hard to flush some of that downstream.  Also a ton spawning, the riff below the wire was loaded, as was the choppy water on the right bank below the wall hole.

Clint, great sharing some water, we'll need to do it again when some of the sharks are gone, glad to hear you remembered the jar before driving home.

Tunes,

We went looking but left the crowbar home so could not get into anywhere except around Pineville.   LFZ was the least crowded spot with fish on the river yesterday.

I'm not clear on the rod comment.  It is a 9.5' 8 wt Orvis Clearwater, replacement for a Rivermaster.  It had a removable extension butt, but the piece the butt fits into came loose and I misplaced it.  I'm thinking of just epoxying the butt in, but I like it the way it is for bass popping.

HT I thought about walking up during the lull, but my buddy wanted to try and get a shark fort his neighbor so we left the zone for a few hours.
The warm weather really got that place stinking badly yesterday from all the carcasses.

To any trolls reading this and thinking the fishing in the zone is great and they gotta get a fly rod and go. I fished 12 hours yesterday for 2 steel a moldy king and a handful of takes.  My buddy fished 10 hours for that monster steel and a handful of takes. Not a high number day, but worth it in my book.

Wayne you could pop for a stay at the luxury jailwater resort.  With the finest accommodations and eats in Altmar.  You could the fish in it's WORLDCLASS smallmouth fishery behind the resort. You could book her for spa treatments and you could fish.  No issues grating a room they are far from sold out.

There were about 10 cars in the lot the other day rely and late.  Not full by any means, that's not going to py the bills.  There was a beauty of a smallmouth caught Tuesday.
