Do you really want to go to Shenago with 90 degree temps and all those pleasure boaters?  Even with a larger boat your going to get bounced around alot.

I grew up on Shenango, there are a few places where you can get away form the maniacs. That being said, it does get quit busy and frustrating.

Gonna head to Wilhelm, like the lower end or the stumps.

The lower end down by the dam, there's a little cove, I do pretty good there, it's about 8' in the cove, if you drift out toward the lake you'll drift over a 12'  hole right as you enter the cove.....good luck

there was a pretty sizable write up in the pittsburgh post gazette about attempts to curb the shad population.

Fished teh lower end, a crossed from ramp #3 yesterday. Fished for 3.5 hours, friend and I caught round 40 crappies. None bigger than 7".....frustrating.

I remember the shad discussion from last year. In my 2 trips to Wilhelm last year, dealt with the same thing. Nothing bigger than 7"

don't expect different results until the shad population is rectified, they compete for the same food source and shad win!
article related-  I also find it a joke, increasing the walleye fingerling from 17,000 to 34,000 is not going to do much, mean while pymie gets 293,000 walleye fingerling a year on top of 4 million fry.

Agreed. Which really ssucks, I like Wilhelm a lot. Don't have to deal with speed boats(Shenango) and the pressure that Pymie gets.

keep in mind that wilhelm is the fraction of the size of pymy

I agree Accountant, however the numbers still don't add up. It's also a shame you have to go all the way northwest/north to have a good walleye lake, where they specifically heavily stock eyes. It would be nice for a SW lake to do the same.
