I don't do it anymore-not worth the hassel- sleep in and just hike to someplace where nobody is- even if it aint the best- just fish.

Trevor, I wouldn't bother with the drive to do that. I live in a postcard area, with gorgeous mountains and water, I ain't walking the trash lined banks for the sights.  Fish On!

That's not to say what Trevor does is  any less fun for him, or I think the SR is a POS. It's a beautiful river and I would choose it as an area to live in. I like Camden. The stretch in the Upper Fly Zone below Jack's spot (called Purgatory by some) is as cool a piece of water as I've seen anywhere. I love to fight steel and salmon, just as simple as that.  First and last  light can often be the best of the day; I've no doubt you've fished the whole day through many times, Andy.

When it was a special trip every season we waited at the door for C and M to open and were on the water in the dark-generally not alone back then either. The good spots are that well known.
In the evening C and M was mostly closed by the time we got back in to Jim's and changed. Burgers at the Bar next door were the best in town and offered late.
( only a few Senior Citizens will know what I just talked about)
Often when ya do get in early enough to post up someone without any morals stands in your back pocket and makes it a grueling experience - not always but enough for me to say the heck with that after getting my own place up there and fishing far more often.
Have learned a few pockets and rocks along the way  that are often overlooked and I head for those. Besides- learning them over again every season or two as the river changes is fun for me.
Could never post up on a spot ,even at o'dark ,and stay too long anyhoo-always gotta see  whats up or down a ways and move on after a while - no matter how many are stacked.
Hasn't been a numbers game hereabouts for a real long time.
May change when I am  a POS outa stater again - lol.

I see a fin coming through the water but, I can't tell what is lurking about....................

Time will tell.

I knew he was lurking about and he has surfaced on another board.  I'm gettin' my popcorn and beer ready for some interesting reads.

We got about a dozen this morning, not nearly as good as the evening bite. Still fun and Wayne's motor ran smooth. Hope RJ has some good word from the big water. Might do an evening wade for some smallies.

Dad talked me into another night of chasing them on the Hudson. Well it started out very well. First cast my popper got crushed a nice 2-21/2 lb smallie from there I missed only about 3-4 more not big hits. Charlie we were so spoiled last week where did they go. Side note my dad got 2 on sincos.
