So I took Charlie's advice and went out for some action with my crawlers. Oneida was ok starting with an south to north wind so that kept the waves down. It was rough , but not bad. Between the two of us we got 5 big sunfish, 4 bass, a Pickerel, an eye and a huge bowfin. Today I visited my granny and hit Oswego river. Fished the soft seams at the edge of the river against the wall. Got 2 decent bass that were a pound or 2  and although the water was fast I managed them. I hooked into something in the fast water that peeled 100 yards of line from my reel in no time flat, but never got a look at it. Would have been nice to see what it was. Could have been anything............. pictures to follow when I am not lazy.

Rough one for me but finished very nice. Friday headed to Long Island for lacrosse with my son. 3:45 ride turned into 5:30 hours got yesterday's games in they cancelled today's games weather related that never materialized. So about a thousand bucks gone between everything for 2 lacrosse games.
Headed back this morning after they cancelled nice short trip back. Everyone got doing their own thing so I snuck out to the Batten Kill. The fish must of had pitty on me fished from 5:30 till dark stopped counting at 20 nothing big but lots of action. I didn't even have to hit any of Charlie's secret spot to have that much success. All in all not a bad way to spend Father's Day.

Nice bowfin, Clint! Pretty darn big pumpkinseed, too. Wish you could have got to get or see the line peeler. Thanks for the pics.
Wayne, glad you got out. Better you than me, as far as LI goes. I actually went in the winter time to a trout river called the Connetquot about mid-island. Had huge rainbows you fished in beats. Destroyed now by whirling disease.

Nice pics clint! Charlie I fished the conetquot twice back in 91 and 92 in the paper beat section.we ended up with a crappy beat, but was able to walk around and pic through the empty beats with success. We came upon a pond that had a couple huge rainbows and browns in it that we tied in to. Would never pay or travel to fish it again but it was a good time then, especially being a youngster still

Andy, I enjoyed the fact that the water is spring fed and never gets below 50. I fished it in the late 90's (above the pond and mill where you fished) when they had a  special winter season. It was warm in the water!  Tiny midges and huge fish. Oh yeah, you can do that on the SR now. With the small exception, the bows in the Conetquot were actually taking the midges instead of getting lined.

So I m going to keep this as my summer thread. Got up to the river at around 5:00. StRted at the town pool with 1 bite. Moved onto the black hole and broke the law and just parked at the fence. Was fishing and some late teen girls walked down and asked if they could swim. Seeing how they asked I said sure and just moved down a bit and around the corner Next thing I  started hearing some giggling and splashing. Looked around the corner and they were down to bra and underpants swinging off the rope and goofing around. Lets just say there was little to the imagination. I got two bass there. I figured I should go and went to the trestle where I got the surprise and the grand slam.  Quite a few bass, what I am guessing  was a king smolt, a HUGE fall fish and drum Roll please..........  a crappie. I have a few pics, no not of the girls, and I will post them later
