Rich, herd those Salmon out there to the SR in time for the run so we can play with them at my "secret" spot come the end of Sept.Enjoy your time with friends and family.
Meanwhile I might get out for the local trico hatch and wrestle with those 6"-12" brown trout in July LMAO!

pa- it's not the size of the dog that counts, it's the size of the fight in that dog.

Once again , the reports out of Mexico are slim pickins. A buddy was there yesterday and the only vehicle in the lot, that right there told him it was going to be sloooow, it was. 1 laker and 1 15" Atlantic .
No matter to me, skis and good times ahead the fish will come

It wasn't a bad year on the SR in 2014....I saw a lot of steelies and nice browns even some cohos....Maybe the king numbers were a little lower, but there were plenty of fish.

An off year might be a good thing, clear off some snaggers.

Well some are saying the fishing is great , others including myself are thinking its tough and going to be a close mirror of last year..
Kings in the river already, well yea that's nice .. Stacked out by the mouth ,  not biting our gear at least.
Maybe I should try crickets out there..
The Charters at our Marina, 2 weeks ago had a good weekend from that west blow for them way out deep.. Haven't seen full boards in the last 2 weeks other then mix of mostly lakers and 2-3 salmon 10 to-20 # range..
I know, the fish get bigger when you have longer arms but the hanging pole don't.
So what's 2015 gonna bring :
1: Lots of people and internet hype again, you know its coming db.. lol
2: I'm with snagger on this, a good push of fish on Labor day weekend water release..  Spent years in the estuary on that weekend and aside from the past 2, it's mostly a givin token..
3. unless this weather pattern changes, a dry warm fall..  Not to my liking at all.. To many people, low water and stressed fish.. We will fish the lake as long as possible until I head to Florida for Mickey land  3 week in sept..
My remaining random Vacation days just got cut by 1. We are heading to Ontario early this Friday to spend some beach/boat time with grandson..  My week run out there starts in 9 days. River time is getting tight as I will be heading to the ADK's before season ends oct-15th, actually we will be at deer camp by first week in oct..

4. Go get'em boys before I do out on the lake LMAO !!!
5: Peace & Tuna

Tuna labor day release has always been a sure shot since I can remember. I've hit it every year since 91... Some years did better a week before with less water... Some years did better a week later with less water... For the mass crowds looking for fish??? Most folks should wait til labor day weekend... Or later... I thoroughly enjoyed labor day myself in 2012. I rolled in to town (home) late Monday once the circus left after a 3 day bout of nothing running from the dam release...... Karma was on my side as I approached an empty river early evening. Worked about half mile down to catch the head of what was the start of the most epic year I ever witnessed.... Let's hope for a great season for all... Keep it real and have fun folks!!!
