RJ, you have some good patterns that are extremely effective. Tie whatever you feel like, but the one for each species is a great idea. Glad your on board and I hope I can get you on the river this fall. We've had some good times. Hope to have some more.

My issue is the neck and back start acting up after a few. I usually have the ball game on in the background. I have marks on my desk for the lengths of materials for the few ones I tie the most of. I did just put up a new light and that sure helps alot.

Thing is while I may tie many flies , I usually tie few patterns. Kinda get stuck in a rut of what works well so why change.
Think I'm going to go with an unproven pattern of something I always want to try but never really do.
Hope it will bring some luck.
As for river time :
Pretty positive I'm going to burn those last 2 oddball vacation days on weds-thurs when jack is up for salmon.
Wouldn't mind hitting a weekend for steelhead before I get into full hunting mode in the fall .
Come jan -1 however my work schedule totally changes . I get 3 & 4 weekdays off and an entire full 7 days off every month plus 5 vacation weeks. That should give me lots of opportunity

I'm with you on that notion rj... I (used to) often (when I had time) would sit down at the vise and tie something just to see if it would work... I am confident in anything I tie and hope they will work for others. Maybe a fall gathering is in need???

Maybe a get together is in order when Tuna comes to town I'll also be there when Jack's in town. If we can only get Charlie away from work.

I'll be building a custom home for a '37 Chevy p-up, a '60 Volvo, and some vintage bikes about then. On the drawing board now, along with  other projects. I am going to take vacation around the last week of Sept./First week of October, though. Looking forward to the flies! Sorry to hear about the knee, Bear. Hope you can wade well  by the fall.

Sounds like some nice toys someone has. Hopefully you get some time in the middle of all that

Bear's flies arrived. I almost ate them for dinner. I will be copying those patterns.  KILLER!  Thanks. Well, bear opened the show with a BANG.
