Not sure? A bluegill deserves better handling. WTF is the Boga for?  To weigh your lunch?

Fichy, since you feel so strongly about it, why not write to the DEC and get them outlawed?  Lots of things were once legal, but are now banned.

Oh please, be a man, bend down and pick the darn thing up with some respect. I'm going to stop here as my blood pressure don't need to rise..

Had a guy across from me hooking up left and right. He was the know all type, lecturing to those across the river on which fly was '' working''  of course they were eating it up an switching flys at his command. Almost every fish was fouled. It's pretty easy to get hook ups when every fish leaves the rap**** and sits in front of you. CAST SWEEP LIFT. That's it. Pretty easy to tell when the tail end is facing up stream and that is the direction the fish is moving too. They move sideways through the water too.

Taken from my other thread........
I will post this again because I think it got lost.  I think I saw his handy  work. That may be me down on the rock.
Remember I wrote this BEFORE I knew it was him...........
I try to leave mine in the net if I can.  Almost ripped the gills out

The guys fishing the church hole wall, especially on the upstream end were foul hooking left and right.  And then they wanted to fight the fish, just for grins I guess.  If someone tells me my fish is foul hooked, I don't have to see it to believe it, I just break it off.

The guys at the head on the upper rock were fouled every time and were the ones with the excuses.  I try not to rip at the end hence my limited, but good hooks.

Large fish will sustain internal hemorrhaging when they are held out of the water and not supported from below. When released they may show  an initial healthy response but usually will die within a week or so. Some of the guides carry Bogas but weigh the net with the fish supported if its meant for release. No need for banning them, just the azzwipes that don't know enough to use them properly.http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/9224.html If you are afraid of touching the icky fish, you may be better off with a different hobby, like playing bridge or cross dressing. You can tell how into fashion you are. Must be tough finding all those plus sizes.

It's OK to mishandle fish and be an internet troll  if you're a fireman?  Just wondering.

Funny how in the photo contest he tried to make the bogo grip disappear. Nice try but we know it's there
