I think the Fran in HT's list is Fran Verdoliva, from back when he was guiding.  2B and I did once have the privilege of showing Francis Betters around some of the water that is now Douglaston, but I don't recall him writing anything about his trips down here, or developing patterns for this fishing. As I recall, he was fishing nymphs like he did on the Bouquet.
