Back when dealing with druggie informants daily we had a rule-
Even though ya hear some things from a snitch  that seem right  if he starts lying bout some stuff ya gotta blow off his WHOLE story-  this includes fabrications stretching the truth to its far limits.
Just cause ya wanted to hear certain things ya cant pick and choose out of a BS story.
