3 smallies Saturday night, but no eyes. My dad went last night. Managed 1 short one and a daiwa spinning reel that I might try to cleanup and save :)

Ok Thunder, nice to meet you guys. Last night was a good one, I was on the other end of the lake. All solid males 18 - 20" definitely all spawning fish.  This weather won't help.

It's a viruses infection called lymphocystis. Can be brought on by the stress of spawning. It's just a skin infection,no harm to consume the fish, but ugly as he- - and freaks me out also. The infection is only in the skin not the flesh.I've caught a lot of  Pymy eyes with this infection.  It's actually better to keep the fish if legal so other fish don't get infected. I caught quite a few deep water out of Erie and on the Maumee river. I would have loved to fish tonight but last night beat me up bad  long night for 3  males. 17- 19.5  It's a long trip for me.  My buddy hitting Maumee out of his boat getting his 3-4 keepers a day. That even a longer trip,it not worth it to me to go there anymore,I rather hit Pymy. Oh don't tell anyone but one year I fillet all the fish with the warts and gave them to my relatives, damm there still here mooching more fish off me. I've even eaten a few that had it on there head or cheek and I'm still here. Ate to many fish from Erie before they had health advisorys on them also.

Big Tuna ,thanks for clearing that up never seen it on the river Eyes. I stayed home too, those cold fronts just never work for me. Had too many bad trips when cold fronts first show up. Maybe mid week I'll roll out.

Gunna head up Weds. to cut the grass again. Want to load up the galvinized wash tubs with juicy crawlers to be ready when the drift bite switches from minnows too worms in a few weeks. Might try the Dying Flutter Weds. night & see what happens. They out perform other stick baits for Eyes on Arthur for me so going to give it a shot.
