Drove by spillway yesterday VERY little open water I'm talking a small circle of it. One guy at the wire. Didn't see any open shoreline water anywhere else.

Was at the spillway this afternoon. Open water the width of the spillway out to the rock barrier. Fished it for about an hour - no action.

Geez Captain, you must of just missed the ice rescue operations that unfolded in the area of Jamestown launch today.

There is a thread of the rescue along with some pictures under the forum 'Rescue at Pymatuning 2/23/16'.

Isn't that area of the river beautiful, thankfully the PFBC hasn't trashed the water with trout..........  yet.

I've been talking with Bill about the incident but never thought to ask him what time of the day it was.  Bill is an avid walleye angler and fishes Pymie almost any day he can launch his boat.  We both have been getting antsy waiting for the Jamestown boat launch to rid itself of ice and just yesterday, were wondering how things were looking.  That's when Bill figured he would take a trip and see what he could see.  Lucky for the guy, who is Amish, that Bill decided to visit the area, had a phone and, knew what to do without hesitation.

I for one, am proud to, call Bill a friend.  BTW, Bill may be a distant neighbor of yours.
