Porktown
Nice, sounds like the eyes are post spawn stage.  Congrats, nice looking haul Puddlejumper.

Good fish pics.  Not sure if they are considered fish porn, if no beer can/bottle in the photos though?

BTDT - Easy solution.  Cooler with ice.  No need for live well for pan fish.  Nice slab.  Good story.  Glad you made it off safely, although would have made for some good Youtube...

Thanks fellas and it happened again today. Loads of fun.

Puddlejumper nice catch, congratulations. Low and slow with a jig is how I caught most of my fish. Almost "dead sticking" and feeling the weight of the fish at the hook set. Cept I didn't catch none of them nice Eyes.

Big Tuna you can bet I'll be spending some time at PI this summer learning the layout for next spring. Noooo way is Marcos gonna have all the fun. Nope!!

Pork, I agree with the ice cooler. Problem is, the way my luck has been the past couple years, all I would be bringing home would be a cooler full of cold water. lol.

puddlejumper1Low and slow........

what was your choice on bait?

Believe it or not, just a plain white, 3/8 oz twister tail jig, just reeled slow along the bottom......for the walleyed that is. Actually started fishing for crappies but just caught the two. Then went deeper for the walleyed. Wasn't expecting much but......

Thanks...hope to give it a try before Wednesday. Be layed up after that for awhile

Good work there John.
Nice catch. Next time you get a bunch of fish like that, just drop them off at Marco's place. He has a beautiful fish cleaning station and since it probably isn't getting much use, and considering the gentleman that he is, I'm sure he wouldn't mind cleaning them for you.

BeenThereDoneThat.
Yesterday I got together with a dear old old..... old friend, that has been in bad shape for the past 15 years or so.   What a great time we had, going back through the years and boating down memory lane.  What fun, tossing a jig here and a jig there or maybe  a minner under a bobber and watching the red and white floaty thing do the 'fishy dance' before disappearing, beneath the water's surface.   But  the gooder part was seeing such an old friend recuperating and doing so much better with the future possibly getting even brighter.  Looking forward to getting together again tomorrow for more reminiscing and hopefully, a few more fish.

The fish were hungry with better than 60 Crappie alone, very few under 9",  being caught and released.  That was caught and released and not counting the the 16, invited home for dinner.

Had a rather exciting catch that tried to kink the 2401 UL and tested the strength of the 4lb test mono.  Ended up cutting the line cause I didn't have a net big enough to take this old boy (or girl) home for the stew pot.
