CRAPPIE_SLAYER
Couldn't manage to find any eyes yesterday. What I did manage to find were a few large channel cats and a friggin stump with my prop. Not my happiest day on the lake, and I'm sure the few boats within earshot knew it.

Down south of Snodgrass a ways. Wasn't anywhere near the shoreline where I figured it would be that shallow, but the lake is down a few feet and I came up over a hump in the lake that topped out around 2ft. Prop is pretty mashed up, but I guess that was better than my first thought that I had blown the rings out of the motor

Sorry about your luck Crappie_Slayer that just plain sucks.

I was working in the yard yesterday and was wondering what all the rumbling was about; coming from the Pymie area.

Anybody eat the catfish from Pymatuning?  Caught some decent ones this year. In the past I have only caught catfish in the three rivers around Pittsburgh and there are consumption advisories on those fish. What's the proper way to prepare them, skin them first with those skinning pliers and then fillet them?

Do you deep fry them?

Thanks
Roy

we eat the channel cats all the time...just channels..nothing else.  we filet them just like a walleye...lose a little meat that way, but the plier method takes too long.  they are as good or better than the eyes.
