should I use a barrel swivel for steelhead? I am going to fish 20 mile with egg sacks and I am going to use a flouracarbon leader so I don't spook the fish. not sure if I should use a barrel swivel or not?

I use them. I like the smallest spro power swivels I can find.

Out of curiosity, does this here give ya any problems in low clear water? Always use a double surgeons knot to tie my tippet to my leader on my fly rod, but wouldn't mind trying this since itd allow me to change tippets without having to slowly clip all of my leader away.

I've taken them off in super clear water if im getting desparate and the conditions allow. But honestly the tiny swivels aren't much bigger than a small split shot. So its probably a confidence thing for me.

come to think of it. Those might be the ones I use. I might just have the spros in bigger sizes...

Used to use size 14 barrel swivels but now just loop to loop. 15 lb  mono butt section & 2x or 3x fluorocarbon tippet.

We use them when fishing the SR. Helps getting leader and tippet length exact. Also helps to keep from having to cut your leader down when changing tippet. Blackbird brand
