May we never forget those who went out to fight for America and did not return
nor those who came home broken and did not survive

Amen to that. Some gave all, all gave some.

My father's brother in law Carl J Ciasulli was killed in action WWII at Remagen Bridge Germany March 1945.  Ciasulli, who was a tank operator, was married to my aunt Millie.  He was born and raised in Meriden CT.

My brother Charles R Schiavo Jr served with the 101st Screaming Eagles in Viet Nam A Shau valley 1969-1970 passed away last November.  His cancer was attributed to exposure to Agent Orange.

May they and all veterans who died in service of our country rest in peace.

My Father lied about his age and joined the Navy at 16 during WWII.
He was in the invasion fleet and went to Nagasaki at the end if the war.
He used to tell us stories about going on tours of ground Zero where the Bomb went off there.
He did that tour with friends numerous times as did others.
He passed far too young of cancer-no one else in his family ever had it.
Always figured it was from Nagasaki-no one knew about radiation back then.
