Well, after 11 days of mostly all days sits, I was able to punch my antlered tag today. With only one more day left that I can hunt as am as happy as a lark with this guy. 18 does and 3 bucks. I actually missed this guy as he was dogging a doe. I was able to reload without them noticing and I she brought him around again. I didn't miss the second time.

Congrats DPMS, only saw only a 4 pt at first light. Called it quits at 2 pm. First time I have not let an arrow fly in the last 11 years. Looking forward to having a buck tag for gun season.

a buddy of mine pointed this out to me last week - statewide archery deer season runs through friday the 20th this year.

but here's where i'm a little confused . . . it shows different dates for the special regs area

if you click on the quick link on the pgc home page on "seasons and bag limits" this is what it shows:

however, if you click on the "hunting digest" icon on the home page and then click on "deer seasons and regulations" this is what it shows:

Congrats! My one buddy smacked a dandy 8 this am that only leaves 2 of my close friends that actually hunt and put in the work with tags left. It's been an incredible season for my crew the taxidermists making money this year! Whole first week of rifle I'll be working, but that second week I'll be in the bush tangled the f up lol cant wait

Congrats dpms! Glad you finally got some action!

Been a pretty slow season for me with lots of work mixed in. Sat this morning behind the house until 10 and saw zero. Switched it up for the afternoon and went in behind my moms house. 1 small doe passed behind me at 3. Just before 4 I saw this guy comming and got the blood pumping. As he got closer I saw an arrow hanging out of his backstrap with minimal penetration. About 20 minutes earlier I had heard a whack and some commotion to the north of me and thought nothing much of it until this point. I was gonna let him pass by when I saw the arrow in him, but as he got closer and I realized he was sporting a non lethal shot I decided to put him down. 20yd shot and he went 50 and crashed. I hung out in the tree for a while to see if the other hunter came by but nothing. Got him all dressed out and made one more attempt to find the other hunter and let him know I put this buck down, but couldn't find anyone. Not exactly how I planned my hunt going, but I'm happy to finally have some meat in the freezer. Good luck out there these last couple days!

Just a few days left guys. Good luck and make the best of it! Might try to sneak out of work early Friday for one more afternoon sit and try to catch a roaming doe.

On a somewhat sad note, the nice 10pt behind my house that I kept tabs on most of the year met his maker on Saturday. Friend of a friend at work was hunting a little ways down the road and got him. Congrats to the lucky hunter, but I can't deny I'm kind of bummed that I won't be looking for his sheds in the spring.

Friend of mine is out today. He said best action he has seen all week. He let a 125inch 8 point walk and has seen lots of chasing going on.
