I would really like to try centerpin fishing this year... I hear about some type of formula to determine weight spacing on the leader. Anyone know where I can find some good information? Thanks

Don't over think the shotting patterns. At least when it comes to steelhead. When I started I thought I needed all these shot lines and spent all kinds of time and money putting them together only to find out that all you need is a float on your mainline then a 3 bigger shot on the mainline and from there you tie your swivel and then leader with a couple more shot. That is the setup I use most of the time. Blackie is the one that showed me that and it works wonders you have to remember your fishing for steelhead there not the smartest fish out there.

If youve ever float fished for steelhead then there aint much more to know about a shot pattern . Casting , and using your hand as the drag will be more of a challenge than any shot pattern you will use.

This will be the year I dedicate to the new pin rod and reel I got , so this will be my first year fishing a pin as well. Ive fished my noodle rod and spinning reel the same way a pin rod is fished and I have the same success as any pinner.

THERE I stuck my chin out , swing away ....
